The Experience
How do I choose the right location?
Choosing the right spot to capture your vision is extremely important! Think about what is authentic to you, your family, or significant other. What do you love to do together, or what will be the right background? Is it a bright beach shoot? Fun and playful park day? Moody bar scene? We can also book time at a local studio. Don’t hesitate to ask me for ideas, as I have a few favorite locations we can go to.
What should we wear?
In addition to deciding on the “where,” you need to pick the “what” to wear! Neutral and/or earthy tones always photograph best- so for tops I always say to go brown, tan, or beige.. Then if you choose to wear a pop of color, stick to more muted tones like navy blue, maroon, or olive green. Avoid patterns if possible. Everyone looks good in jeans, and long flowy dresses are always pretty. You want to compliment each other, not match.
Will you help us pose?
Being comfortable in front of a camera is difficult, especially if you’ve never done a proffesional shoot. That’s okay, it’s my job to pose you! We will do a mixture of “guarantee” pictures, posed or smiling, and candid shots. The best pictures come from being yourself- whether it’s letting your kids play or acting as if you’re out on a date with your partner, we will capture the most amazing memories for you to keep forever.
